OW! TheatreLab: an ensemble of female performers that I founded during lockdown to shed new light on a range of texts, to creatively engage with our communities - with care homes, community centres, schools and the general public - and to promote positive representations of older women.

OW! TheatreLab: Meena Agrawal,  Wendy Buckley, Jaki Grudzinskas, Hilary Hodson,

Karla Ptacek, Rose Taw, Mina Temple, Sasha Winslow, Jan Woods. Directed by Karla Ptacek

Our work is made possible by support from Southwark Playhouse, Art Explora, Lewisham College, and Rose Bruford.

On Tour:

A post-colonial adaptation of 'Our Country's Good' by Timberlake Wertenbaker which includes additional material from Thomas Kineally's "The Playmaker".

"It was really terrific to see your work, we all found it very inspiring, both in the staging and in the examination of the characters and themes. It has so much to say across generations and I am sure that your audiences will excited by the ways that they are drawn into the scene and understand that they are part of the conversation."

In just over a month we put together this benefit performance for women & girls in Ukraine.  Our sell-out performance of The Government Inspector  raised £2,525 for Action Aid/DEC Ukrainian Humanitarian Appeal, and were in the to 5% of thousands of fundraisers that month!

A huge THANK YOU! for all those who came to support us on the night and to the great many who donated online. An especial big shout-out to our generous Australian friends!

MAY 2023  We began performing in care homes and community centres thanks to our new association with  Art Explora, an international art foundation that inspires new encounters between arts and audiences – locally, nationally and internationally

SEPTEMBER 2023  OW! has been invited to perform our flashmob "Visible/Invisible" at the Urban Elephant Festival, London, Sept 16th, 2023.
